#IO12 Google IO first day, Wednesday.

#IO12 Google IO first day, Wednesday. Peer to peer data streams and mic/web cam support look awesome in the WebRTC spec. Those are really going to be game changers. The browser will have firm control of network IO to create efficient streams, and will gain even more hardware abstraction and support making native apps another notch less necessary.

{The following has very little exaggeration}
So the keynote was interrupted by Sergey, one of google's founders, because he wanted to attempt to demo google glass. His friend was wearing a pair of the glasses about a mile away, and was going to quickly close the distance and record the experience live for the keynote audience. Did I mention he was a mile away, straight up? He leapt from a blimp, sky diving with a flying squirrel suit, then landed on our conference building's roof. He used a mountain bike to get across the roof to another section, doing a trick off a jump on the way, then repelled down to our floor (the third floor), to jump in through a window and into our keynote hall, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. His first person perspective was clear and uninterrupted the entire way using google's new glasses technology to join a live g+ hangout. I think google couldn't have chosen a better way to kick off google io.

  1. As if everything wasn't ramped up enough this year. Then Sergey comes on like a Don and steps things up, out of the stratosphere!

    Oh and the red haired gorgeousness that presented Glass, huba huba!
