Ireland's New Grange is one of the oldest man made structures, more than 3,000 years old, and its still sturdy and waterproof like when it was first constructed. During the winter solstice a beam of sunlight just barely makes it's way into the inner chamber and I hear it's brilliant. Of all the monuments this one impressed me the most, and I get an intense feeling of nostalgia for the King Under the Hill quest in MM7.

This structure is really cool! I had no idea we had things like this around the British isles!

What's up with France taking the gold, silver, and bronze? How have I never heard of hardly any of these non-Egypt/South American places?!
It's incredible that the oldest could be from 12k years ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yonaguni_Monument
ReplyDeleteFrance has (more or less) been continuously civilised for most of that time. Makes sense that they have the oldest still standing
ReplyDeleteYou don't have anything like this in the british isles, it's in Ireland.
